FarPoint Europe Ltd. to expand sales and support for European customers

MORRISVILLE, NC — February 1, 2005 — FarPoint Technologies, Inc., a world renowned components vendor, today announced the opening of their European office, based in West Sussex, England. FarPoint Europe Ltd. has been established due to the phenomenal growth of the European customer base. The appointment of Neil Slater as the European Managing Director shows the commitment that FarPoint has for this market.
The office will allow FarPoint to respond better to customers in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe. "We have always sold our products to developers around the globe", says chief executive officer Rick Williamson, "but now we can be more responsive to their needs as we continually add to our product line." Having a direct representative in England is a natural growth step for FarPoint which recently expanded outside sales in the United States.
"With increased opportunity in the European market, FarPoint wants to provide a direct sales channel for its international customers, while still supporting its European distributors and resellers", explains Slater, who will be responsible for international sales of FarPoint product, mainly its Spread products. "With a strong product set for the Microsoft .NET platform, FarPoint has a lot to offer in the European market. I’m excited being part of the FarPoint team."
Slater will take responsibility for international sales operations in Europe, building on his over fifteen years of experience that includes previous work with ProtoView UK and ComponentOne Europe. The European office is located in West Sussex, England. FarPoint anticipates some renewed excitement among customers with more direct participation in the growing European market.
